About The Position

Spartans Sports Camp is dedicated to providing an encouraging and positive environment that aids the development of its campers as both children and athletes. In the course of this goal, we intend to promote an active, healthy lifestyle for campers and to provide leadership opportunities for high school and college students. Spartans Sports camp is a 501(c)(3) organization raising funds for Mtn. View HS Athletics. Since 2012, the camp has raised over $630,000. The Junior Counselor Director is responsible for the program development and execution of the Junior Counselor Program. They will work closely with the Site Director and Multi-Sport Director to ensure a positive experience for every camper. This position is a leadership position that requires a time commitment year-round. The Junior Counselor program is a Counselor-in-Training program that includes leadership development for rising 8th and 9th graders.

Responsibilities

• Participate as directed with an enthusiastic and engaging attitude to maintain Spartans Sports Camp culture
• Guide the Junior Counselors throughout the week so that by the end of the week they have improved as leaders.
• Assign counselor duties according to daily plan
• Develop Junior Counselor plan and curriculum with the goal of maximizing the camp experience.
• Off-Season Duties: Assist in program development, planning, and marketing in the off-season. 5-10 hours per week.
• In-Season Duties: 7-8 week Summer Program June 8 - July 31. If available April 6-10 Spring Break Camp. Duties: Direct JC camp. 40-50 hours per week.
