Junior Commercial Credit Analyst
About The Position
Monson Savings Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Commercial Credit Analyst to support our Commercial Lending team. Responsible for evaluating the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for commercial credit and supporting informed lending decisions, this position is ideal for an early-career finance or accounting professional looking to build experience in commercial credit analysis within a collaborative banking environment. Working within the Loan & Operations Center located at 75 Post Office Park, Wilbraham, MA, the full-time Junior Commercial Credit Analyst underwrites commercial loans received by the Bank. Position generally works 40 hours per week, within standard business hours Mon-Fri. Potential for future hybrid remote work option. Regular in-office presence is required.
Requirements
- Preferred applicants have the willingness and ability to learn and apply credit administration, policy and procedures, and risk analysis skills.
- Baseline knowledge of accounting, economic and financial principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated technical report writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and manage time.
- Interacts with others in an effective and professional manner, with a team approach to work responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field and one year experience in credit analysis, loan underwriting and documentation and/or credit review functions; or equivalent combination of education and experience are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare clear, objective written credit analyses for commercial and real estate loans
- Analyze business and personal financial statements, cash flows, and repayment capacity
- Perform annual credit reviews, including risk rating assessments and documentation reviews
- Obtain and analyze credit reports and incorporate findings into credit presentations
- Maintain organized and up-to-date commercial credit files (including electronic imaging)
