Junior Coach
About The Position
To assist the head coach/director of competitive aquatics and all other swim team coaches to support the delivery of a high quality, safe, inclusive, and competitive swim team program. Who Are We? Requirements
- Must be 15 years of age or older
- Competitive swimming experience or swim instruction experience highly preferred
- Must be able to demonstrate swim stroke techniques
- Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
- Any additional certifications as required by the YMCA or USA Swimming
Responsibilities
- With supervision, instructs stroke techniques (in/out of pool) at swim practices as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist coaching staff in supporting practices, meets and other team activities, keeping the program goals in mind.
- May maintain records as required (attendance, progress reports, etc.)
- Actively promote YMCA Character Development and Core Values.
- Follow all Branch and Association policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image at all times.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
