About The Position

Emerald Technical Solutions is seeking a Junior Cloud Administrator to support our Commercial Managed Services Provider (MSP) and CMMC operations. This role is ideal for an early‑career IT professional looking to build hands-on experience managing cloud environments, supporting small‑to‑mid‑size commercial customers, and working alongside senior engineers in a fast‑paced MSP setting. The Junior Cloud Administrator will assist with day‑to-day cloud administration tasks, customer support requests, monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement of cloud-based services.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in service desk support, systems administration, and cloud operations
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure tenant deployments and maintenance
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Admin Portals (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server and Windows desktop environments
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (VNETS, Private Endpoints, NSGs)
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
  • Ability to document work clearly and follow established processes

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure or AWS in an academic, lab, or professional setting
  • Entry‑level cloud or IT certifications (e.g., AZ‑900, CompTIA Cloud+)
  • Experience deploying and maintaining Azure tenants within a Commercial, GCC or GCC-H environment
  • Scripting or automation exposure (ARM)
  • Familiarity with security fundamentals (MFA, least privilege, backups)
  • Understanding of Terraform & Bicep
  • Understanding of Microsoft Intune and Defender for Cloud

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administration and support of cloud environments (primarily Microsoft Azure GCC-H and Microsoft 365 Tools)
  • Perform routine user, group, and permission management (Azure AD / Entra ID)
  • Support onboarding/offboarding activities for MSP & CMMC customers
  • Assist with cloud resource provisioning (VMs, storage, networking, backups)
  • Monitor cloud systems and respond to alerts and service tickets
  • Troubleshoot cloud-based issues
  • Assist with patching, updates, and configuration changes
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and customer environment notes
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and cloud security best practices
  • Work with senior engineers on projects, migrations, and customer optimizations
  • Enforcing MSP ticketing, SLA, and change management processes
