About The Position

The Cloud Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the cloud computing strategy, including cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to coordination of architectural requirements, capacity management, and defining policies. Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in designing, deploying, managing, and operating dynamically scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant and reliable applications on cloud platforms.
  • Proven experience as a cloud administrator or similar IT role.
  • Technical knowledge of cloud computing environments, applications and platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of system architecture, networking, and cloud computing.
  • Understanding of operating systems, networking, virtualization, and security protocols within a cloud-based environment.
  • Understanding of scripting for automation. (Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash, etc.)
  • Knowledge of DevOps and Agile methodology.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a cloud architect or administrator is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and/or upgrading cloud-based applications, developing and implementing cloud storage structures, and monitoring system performance.
  • Implement and manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
  • Familiarity with cloud management tools and cloud automation technologies.
  • Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to cloud infrastructure, and ensure the security of cloud-based systems by setting up firewalls and backup strategies.
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
  • Work with teams to define and discuss system requirements, navigate complex IT issues, and achieve project goals.
  • Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with IT team to define and implement cloud strategy, architecture, and services.
  • Ensure all cloud solutions follow security and compliance controls.
  • Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with team to find creative solutions.
  • Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help company excel.
