About The Position

The Junior Buyer serves as a foundational support for the supply chain team, ensuring that goods and services are identified and procured in a timely manner. This role focuses on the execution of procurement administrative tasks, maintaining approved supplier documentation, and ensuring compliance with global anti-corruption and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 years of general experience in the area and related positions.
  • Technical Skills: High analytical capacity and proficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Licensing: Must possess a current and valid driver's license.

  • Industry Experience: Experience in a similar role within the Engineering, Mining, or Construction industries.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to use a systematic approach and logic to evaluate solution alternatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Identification: Support the search and identification of potential suppliers to provide goods and services at the right time for different company areas.
  • Order Management: Prepare and issue purchase orders and/or service orders according to requirements and approved order requests.
  • Supplier Relations: Validate that suppliers receive respective service award orders and ensure payments are processed to various providers.
  • Documentation & Tenders: Receive and open bids and pricing for goods and services, and issue electronic communications to unsuccessful bidders in Hudbay tenders.
  • Reporting: Assist the Purchasing Manager with the preparation of monthly procurement and supply reports.
  • Database Maintenance: Assist in the preparation and updating of the approved supplier list.
  • Compliance: Conduct all performance within the framework of Environment, Health, Safety, Human Rights, and Global Anti-Corruption policies, including the FCPA and CFPOA.
  • Safety & Environment: Actively participate in and encourage training and activities related to Environment, Occupational Health and Safety, and Community Relations.
