About The Position

What is a Junior Business Analyst – Distributed Energy Resources? This Business Analyst role works within the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) group and supports the day-to-day execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the distributed generation (DG) interconnection process. This role focuses on the review, processing, and tracking of interconnection applications, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficient throughput. The position serves as a key liaison between DER operations, engineering, IT, and customer-facing teams, with a strong emphasis on system performance, workflow automation, and PowerClerk support. What does a Junior Business Analyst – Distributed Energy Resources do? · Reviews and supports the end-to-end processing of DG interconnection application · Develops and maintains operational dashboards and reports to support data driven decision-making · Monitors and tracks application volumes, queues, processing timelines, and backlogs · Supports the configuration, optimization, and ongoing use of Interconnection Online Application Portal (IOAP)/ PowerClerk software, including data validation, reporting, issue resolution, and system enhancements · Evaluates current DER and DG application processes and identifies opportunities to automate workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve cycle times · Collaborates with IT and vendor teams to support testing and deployment of system enhancements · Prepares operational performance updates · Provides support for storm restoration efforts What does it take to be a Junior Business Analyst – Distributed Energy Resources?

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, STEM, or related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, candidates with an associate’s degree in the aforementioned fields of study and 3+ years of Business Analyst experience or a High School diploma and 5+ years of Business Analyst experience will be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with regulatory reporting, program tracking, or performance metrics
  • Knowledge of utility systems, data platforms, or project tracking tools
  • Familiarity with automation, analytics, or AI tools used to enhance operational efficiency and reporting
