As a Junior Build Engineer, you'll be building and maintaining our continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipeline for Sonos. You will contribute to and learn about workflow automation solutions including: source control management, build and continuous integration, artifact and release systems, and delivery through cloud services. Your goal will be to support and grow our ability to help developers go from ideas to code to a releasable artifact. What You'll Do Build Engineers on the team work directly with software engineers to create solutions that enable the engineers to do their best work. You will learn from and contribute to projects including: Source control management systems (Git) Software build tooling for applications built on Mac, Windows, and Linux (Python and JavaScript) Continuous Integration and Deployment Systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Artifact and release management systems (Artifactory) Workflow management and collaboration tools (GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Slack) Internal scripts used to package and publish software releases (Python) Cloud infrastructure (AWS), EKS, EBS and Lambda

Requirements

0–2 years of experience in a software development, DevOps, build, or release engineering role, internship or co-op
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
Basic programming experience with Python and/or Bash
Familiarity with version control concepts and Git
Exposure to or coursework involving software build systems or scripting
Eagerness to learn CI/CD tools and workflow automation practices
Basic understanding of visualization tools (Datadog)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Any hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
Experience writing or modifying build scripts (make, maven, gradle, or similar)
Exposure to cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) or containerization concepts (Docker)
Familiarity with Agile project management tools such as Jira
Exposure to Kubernetes, ArgoCD, or infrastructure-as-code tools (terraform, JCasC)
