About The Position

The Junior Auto Service Technician performs basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacement, and multi-point inspections, working under the guidance of senior technicians. This role involves diagnosing basic maintenance needs and utilizing diagnostic tools, scanners, and software to accurately identify and resolve issues. The technician is expected to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications, as well as conduct thorough inspections and road tests to verify repairs, ensuring all work adheres to manufacturer and safety standards. Maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial. Responsibilities also include reviewing and verifying repair work, collaborating with service advisors to communicate repair needs and timelines, and contributing to workflow prioritization and shop productivity. Accurate documentation of diagnostics and repairs is required, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Own tools (basic set)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals
  • Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
  • Ability to read and interpret repair orders
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Entry-level experience (lube tech, tire shop, etc.)
  • ASE G1 (Maintenance, Light Repair, Brakes) - Required
