About The Position

DISHER is partnering with a small, engineering-forward architecture firm to add a Junior Architect/Architectural Designer to their growing team in Lansing, MI. This company is a one-stop shop for clients, delivering projects from early concept through construction across higher education, heavy industrial, mixed-use, multi-family, and municipal markets. In this role, you’ll help turn facility and building projects into clear, coordinated designs and construction documents alongside a tight-knit team of experienced architects and engineers. What it’s like to work here This company is a relationship-driven, one-stop-shop A/E firm where most work comes from long-term, repeat clients. The team is small, experienced, and highly collaborative, allowing them to deliver complex projects with the efficiency and agility that larger firms often can’t match. You’ll work in a setting that values technical quality, open communication, and genuine camaraderie across disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Architectural licensure preferred; active progress toward licensure considered.
  • 5–10 years of professional experience, ideally with industrial, commercial, multi-family, and/or municipal projects.

  • Solid understanding of BIM workflows, detailing, construction methods, building systems, and applicable codes and zoning.
  • Excellent organization, communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to projects that range from smaller commercial buildings to large, complex facilities (for example, heavy industrial/OEM facilities and sizable mixed-use or higher-ed projects).
  • Support and, at times, lead architectural development from conceptual and schematic design through construction administration.
  • Create high-quality visualizations and renderings to communicate design intent to clients and internal teams.
  • Produce and coordinate detailed construction documents using Revit and CAD, integrating consultant drawings into cohesive, buildable sets.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and consultants to ensure coordinated, code-compliant designs and documentation.
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, RFIs, and shop drawing reviews to support projects through construction.
  • Help maintain project schedules, deliverables, and quality standards, and mentor designers/drafters as appropriate.
