About The Position

The Junior Accounting Analyst assists the Finance team in preparing and tracking critical department information. This role is primarily responsible for generating NICB membership assessment and program invoicing and is also responsible for tracking, reporting and communicating on accounts receivables. Other accounting, audit, analysis and reporting as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Accounting, Business or Finance degree preferred)
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in an Accounting or Finance related role preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting practices and principles.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft office applications, specifically Excel (i.e., excel tables, pivot tables and advanced formulas).
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar programs preferred.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management software preferred.
  • Customer service: Strong commitment to providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Time management: Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to data entry and verification, ensuring high levels of accuracy.
  • Communication skills: Must be able to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
  • Good decision making and analytical skills.
  • Team player: Collaborates effectively with others, contributing to team goals.
  • Ability to work independently without constant guidance or supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and send accurate and timely membership invoices based on product or membership type.
  • Maintain and accurately update customer files in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and accounting software to ensure data integrity and traceability.
  • Monitor payment status, following up as needed to avoid delays. Generate automated past-due account emails and respond to customer inquiries partnering with internal Program Directors as needed.
  • Generate reports and provide account updates as requested.
  • Assist with compiling monthly and year-end financial statements, budget development and the annual financial audit.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline workflows and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Serve as backup to the internal company vehicle Fleet Administrator.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal departments and external vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Other duties as assigned.
