If yes, Blossman Gas, Inc., one of America's largest independent propane companies seek qualified individuals to apply for an open Junior Staff Accountant (A/P emphasis) position at our Home Office in Ocean Springs, MS. Founded in 1951, Blossman Gas is one of America's largest independent gas companies with more than 85 retail locations, 1000+employees, and continued growth ahead. Due to our company's culture, these positions have little turnover for those seeking in-office, M-F contributions. The primary responsibilities for the Jr. Staff Accountant (A/P emphasis) include: Daily processing of check requests and vendor invoices for a large volume of company accounts. This includes receiving, processing, and verifying the payment of invoices within a specific Accounting software system. Regular, professional verbal and written communication with vendors and company employees Perform regular data entry associated with Accounts Payable Review and reconcile any invoice discrepancies Conduct monthly reporting; utilize specific software programs and new technology Assist with the annual audit as requested; collaborate with other Accounting-related functions to help the business Contribute to a team environment

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field of study preferred
Accounts Payables experience preferred
Proficient in MS Office particularly MS Excel; able to learn and retain new software programs as directed by the needs of the business
Excellent analytical skills; ability to resolve complex problems
Solid organizational skills; attention to detail; self-starter
Ability to meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Positive attitude; ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to accept new layers of responsibility as the mastery of our A/P processes happen; accept feedback and coaching well; apply continuous improvement approaches to the department and our overall business

Responsibilities

Daily processing of check requests and vendor invoices for a large volume of company accounts.
