About The Position

The Accountant will provide accounting support for high level projects and process improvement. They will be cross trained in all Accounting functions and will have knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Revenue and Sales Operations Compensation. In this role, the individual is responsible for assisting with process improvement projects, documentation of processes and procedures, performing research and analysis, account reconciliations, assisting with audit preparations, insurance policies and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with colleagues, vendors, and partners
  • High professionalism and strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Bachelors Degree in with a major in Accounting.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in public accounting or industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and input journal entries (monthly, adjusting, and recurring).
  • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
  • Process monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries. Inform timely and update insurance company of all asset changes.
  • Assist with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance Department.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations, reports, and roll forwards.
  • Provide support to external auditors during reviews and audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and daily cash position reporting.
  • Provide assistance within both Costing and Financial areas of the Finance department with work on projects to improve systems and procedures.
  • Review postings within the G/L for accurate accounts and costs at time of receipt.
  • Provides accounting support for review of product margins and costs for existing or new products.
  • Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential.
  • Reconciliation of General Ledger accounts at month-end.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of work with additional attention on reducing and eliminating waste.
  • Participate in monthly G/L closing, preparing journal entries as required.
  • Participate in the annual Physical inventory or Cycle Counting process.
  • Assist with annual audit by external public accounting firm
  • Assist with ad-hoc questions / projects as needed.
