About The Position

Are you someone who enjoys building strong relationships, solving problems, and helping businesses succeed? As a Junior Account Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for your customers — their trusted partner, strategic advisor, and day-to-day point of contact. This is a relationship-driven, growth-focused role where you’ll spend 70–80% of your time directly working with customers and the remaining 20–30% leading internal projects like launching new shipping lanes, developing pricing strategies, and conducting quarterly business reviews. If you enjoy being customer-facing, thinking strategically, and driving revenue growth — this is the role for you.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of customer service experience within an office environment
  • Proficient in MS Office, emphasis in Excel
  • Strong typing skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain composure
  • Ability to efficiently pivot from one task to another throughout the day
  • Team player with ability to influence execution
  • Eager to learn and open to different methods of execution
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between our company and your assigned customers; building trust, understanding their goals, and ensuring we deliver real value to their business
  • Manage a book of business with defined revenue goals; maintaining and growing account revenue while meeting (or exceeding!) quotas for each account
  • Using market data, industry trends, and historical insights, develop and present freight rate quotes — whether for individual shipments or long-term contracts
  • In addition to growing existing accounts, you’ll actively seek new customers through cold calls, emails, networking, and relationship building
  • When service issues arise, you’ll take ownership — working with internal teams to resolve concerns quickly and maintain client satisfaction
  • You’ll collaborate closely with the President of New Age Logistics and the Director of Operations, as well as other internal departments to launch new shipping projects, open new freight lanes, develop pricing solutions, conduct quarterly business reviews, and ensure customer requests are executed smoothly
  • Stay in regular contact with your accounts to assess needs, clarify expectations, and uncover opportunities for growth
