This opportunity is exclusive to U.S. military members currently serving on active duty and eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program. This is not a civilian or student internship. This is an unpaid internship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. The intern selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from JRM Construction Management and will not be an employee, agent, or contractor of JRM Construction Management but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD. This is a pipeline requisition that will be used to capture qualified candidates that are eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate interest in construction management or the construction industry
  • Have served at least 180 days on active duty
  • Be eligible to participate during the final six months of military service prior to separation or retirement
  • Be expected to receive an honorable discharge
  • Have completed the Transition Assistance Program (TAP/TGPS)
  • Have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the internship
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Microsoft Project

  • Assisting with trade coordination (Assistant Superintendent)
  • Material tracking (Assistant Superintendent)
  • Site logistics (Assistant Superintendent)
  • Safety compliance (Assistant Superintendent)
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications (Junior Estimator)
  • Analyzing subcontractor bids (Junior Estimator)
  • Assisting with scope comparisons (Junior Estimator)
  • Supporting bid submissions (Junior Estimator)
  • Supports the Project Manager with the administration of project cost and scheduling systems (Project Engineer)
  • Supports estimating functions for changes and addenda (Project Engineer)
  • Manages document control and shop drawing systems (Project Engineer)
  • Helps ensure the smooth flow of information between the design team, consultants, and subcontractors (Project Engineer)
