About The Position

Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT team. Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. We provide cradle-to-grave services for primary and secondary composite structures. This position is located in our San Diego, CA office and reports to the Gary Santana, IT Manager. Position Summary: We are seeking a Junior System Administrator to join our IT team and provide essential support in maintaining and improving our technology infrastructure. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates who are self-motivated and detail-oriented with natural computer savvy and a desire to learn and grow with us. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in systems administration, networking, and IT support who are eager to grow their technical skills in a collaborative environment between cross-functional teams.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in IT support or system administration preferred.
Basic understanding of Windows operating systems.
Experience with Office 365 is a must.
Familiarity with networking concepts.
Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualization technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
US. Person under 22 CFR 120 (due to ITAR Restrictions)
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Technical Knowledge: Scope, cost, schedule, and risk identification
Strategic Management: Understand planning, prioritization, and the best management method for each project. Understanding corporate goals and how the project ties into the business
Leadership and Soft Skills: Motivate and guide a team to move in the right direction
Basic knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must be a US Person (Resident Alien or US Citizen).
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Entra ID, SharePoint, and PowerAutomate a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and network devices.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
Provide technical support to end-users via helpdesk tickets, email, and in-person.
Assist in the management and support of MDM solution.
Assist with creating and maintaining documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Support user account management including Active Directory, email, and access permissions.
Collaborate with senior IT staff on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
Provide support to Help Desk technicians.
Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
Occasional travel to out-of-state location.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. as needed.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
