About The Position

The Patient Advocate assists families in navigating the SCA process and securing insurance authorizations. This role involves educating clients on treatment plans, encouraging engagement, and handling data entry, follow-ups, and negotiations. A sales-oriented mindset and strong empathy are key to success. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in admissions or inside sales, preferably in the ABA or ASD service industry
  • Strong understanding of the Single-Case Agreement process and insurance regulations
  • Proven track record in negotiation and advocacy on behalf of clients
  • Willingness to submit to drug and background screenings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems
  • Ability to build rapport with families, insurance providers, and internal stakeholders
  • Proven sales aptitude
  • Proper telephone etiquette
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • The Patient Advocate Representative requires a minimum of a High-school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ABA therapy principles and practices is a plus
  • Professional or personal experience with ASD and/or ABA therapy

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for families and insurers, guiding them through the SCA process.
  • Gather client information, explain admissions, and use inside-sales techniques to promote ABA services.
  • Work with clinical teams to develop treatment plans and compile supporting documentation.
  • Negotiate with insurers to secure SCAs for ABA services.
  • Maintain detailed records of communications with families, insurers, and internal teams.
  • Track SCAs, provide updates, and address client concerns.
  • Stay current on regulations, trends, and best practices for effective advocacy.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance ABA and ASD expertise.
