About The Position

Energy Northwest, through an agreement with colleges (e.g., Columbia Basin College), periodically employs college students as interns who are studying radiation safety, nuclear technology, or other similar technical fields in order to assist the student in completing their training/education and to benefit from the duties they can be qualified to perform at Energy Northwest. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Job duties include: 1. Create/modify/update various system drawings using computer graphics software 2. Review/modify/update Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training materials 3. Develop dynamic learning activities using the flow simulator 4. Perform in-plant walkdowns with qualified Equipment Operators and document observations 5. Update system text as needed to support all operations training programs Note: When in the plant, Jr. Non-Licensed Operators will be under the direction of a journey level equipment operator, journey level reactor operator, or Operations management personnel. At no time will a Jr. NLO operate any plant equipment, perform any peer checking, or perform any hands-on activities. While in the plant, the Jr. NLO will be strictly observing activities and/or discussing them as appropriate.

Requirements

  • The job classification will only be available to students enrolled and active in either the EITC or CBC Nuclear Technology programs.
