About The Position

UniTech is seeking a reliable and hardworking Jr. Health Physics Technician. ORSC's core business is the processing of Low-Level Radioactive Waste. Our standard is a 5-day work week, enjoy two days off a week. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training. Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school and/or GED equivalent is required.
• Ability to learn Canberra Genie 2k ISOCS modeling.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10%25.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs in a non-climate-controlled building on a concrete floor
• Prior experience working in Nuclear Power Facilities, DOE Laboratories, Other Radiological Licensed Facilities.
• Ability to work independently and resolve practical problems.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to operate equipment.
• Possess a general knowledge in the use of a variety of radiation monitoring instruments.
• Knowledgeable in the Periodic Table of the Elements and the Chart of the Nuclides.
• Proficient in MS Ed Word.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a Jr. HP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and maintain unrestricted radiological release surveys and techniques and provide detailed recordkeeping.
• Characterization of radioactive materials to determine disposal pathway using appropriate instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with company, location, state and federal radiation safety policies and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
