About The Position

UniTech is seeking a reliable and hardworking Jr. Health Physics Technician. ORSC's core business is the processing of Low-Level Radioactive Waste. Our standard is a 5-day work week, enjoy two days off a week. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training. What you’ll be doing : Learn and maintain unrestricted radiological release surveys and techniques and provide detailed recordkeeping. Characterization of radioactive materials to determine disposal pathway using appropriate instrumentation. Ensure compliance with company, location, state and federal radiation safety policies and regulations. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school and/or GED equivalent is required.
  • Ability to learn Canberra Genie 2k ISOCS modeling.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs in a non-climate-controlled building on a concrete floor
  • Prior experience working in Nuclear Power Facilities, DOE Laboratories, Other Radiological Licensed Facilities.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve practical problems.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to operate equipment.
  • Possess a general knowledge in the use of a variety of radiation monitoring instruments.
  • Knowledgeable in the Periodic Table of the Elements and the Chart of the Nuclides.
  • Proficient in MS Ed Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a Jr. HP is preferred.
