About The Position

We are looking for a junior data analyst to join the Cortez laboratory in the Department of Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh.
The analysts will work closely with Dr. Victor S. Cortez , Assistant Professor, and the members of the Cortez lab.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience: Comfortable with programming languages such as Python, or R. should be able to use Jupyter lab note books and/or RStudio.

Responsibilities

• Perform data preprocessing, quality control, and statistical analysis of biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data.
• Utilize programming languages such as Python, or R, to implement NGS (bulk or single cell) data analysis pipelines, automate processes, and perform statistical analysis.
• Collaborate with immunologists and computational scientists to effectively integrate bioinformatics analysis into research projects.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of methodologies, protocols, and results to facilitate reproducibility and data sharing.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced research environment.
