About The Position

This is an on-site role in our mid-town Manhattan office. Looking to start your IT career working with a great team? Herrick, Feinstein LLP (a 200+ user law firm in New York City) is seeking a professional, logic driven, team player for an entry level role in our Business Solutions & Training group. We are looking for a candidate that has a passion for explaining & training end-users (new users and new software), a knack for picking up new technology, comfort with relational databases and data, a love of troubleshooting combined with a terrific customer service attitude. This hands-on roll is a great learning opportunity and provides exposure to a diverse set of business technologies while supporting the Firm and IT team members. The Business Solutions & Training group is part of the overall IT team and focuses on training, deploying and maintaining Firm Enterprise software systems, Artificial Intelligence tools, reporting, data governance, data integrations, and supporting and training individual departments and practice areas on improving their workflow through new or existing tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or relevant experience required.
  • Must be passionate about technology, comfortable and proficient with databases, and an active learner who is eager to absorb new concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and networks. Uses a systematic approach to find solutions and deliver effective support to end users.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and a base understanding of computer hardware and networking.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can communicate clearly, respectfully and confidently with others.
  • Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance, communicates promptly and professionally regarding any schedule changes or delays, and adapts flexibly to overtime and temporary schedule adjustments.
  • Independently utilizes all available resources and documentation managed by our team, such as solutions within our ticketing system and documentation in our notebooks and Team site.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared accountability to achieve common goals.
  • Capacity to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision. Ability to independently assess when to troubleshoot versus when to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Diligently adhere to all established IT policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform classroom, one-on-one and virtual software training for end-users
  • Assist with the development and coordination of regular training programs and maintain training resources
  • Assist with supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives including reimagining legacy workflows
  • Assist with managing the Firm’s intranet content and permissions
  • Assist with the design, development and maintenance of reports and dashboards utilizing Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Excel, and SQL stored procedures
  • Research, analyze and resolve IT and data quality issues
  • Support the rollout of new software tools and assist in the delivery of solutions that improve their business processes
  • Escalate, track, and assist in resolving issues with vendors or internal technical teams
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems related to all supported applications
  • Document, track and monitor all requests, ensuring a timely and well documented resolution from start to finish. Create, log, track, and maintain a ticket (in our ITSM system) for every request and task, with complete and accurate documentation of diagnostics, actions taken, resolution details, and user communications.
  • Contribute to the Firm’s SharePoint team and assist workflows across all systems using Power Automate, FreshService, Aderant Workflow and other tools
