Position Summary The Junior Accountant will assist the accounting department in all aspects of day to day bookkeeping and accounting. Candidates should have a strong foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting. The ideal candidate possesses an analytical mindset and exceptional organizational skills, with a dedicated focus on maintaining accurate financial records in adherence to GAAP standards. The candidate should be proficient in processing journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivables, and be able to support the month-end closing process. We are looking for a detail-oriented, critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can meet rigorous deadlines. The position reports to the Senior Accountant.

Requirements

  • Current candidate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of accounting experience with basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Ability to exercise high levels of discretion and maintain strict confidentiality regarding company accounts.
  • Commitment to performing work to the highest standards of the accounting profession.
  • Proven ability to complete tasks within deadlines with minimal direct supervision.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Non-profit experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with donation/cash receipts data entry, including uploading documents to our accounting software (QuickBooks).
  • Perform credit card reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy in posting.
  • Assist with maintaining accounts payable records.
  • Assist with preparing and reconciling month-end fund reports.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation, year-end financial audit, and tax filings as needed.
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial standards.
  • Collaborate effectively both as an independent contributor and as a supportive team member.
