About The Position

HCEW Management Services, LLC (“HCEW-MS”) provides administrative support services to Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, LLC (“UTMC”), HCEW-MS, and affiliated entities. UTMC, a family-owned 100+ year-old company, is the long-term industry leader in refrigerated semi-trailers and North America's fourth largest semi-trailer manufacturer. UTMC has six manufacturing factories - five in various states within the United States and one in Mexico -- and a research and development facility in California. HCEW and UTMC are headquartered in City of Industry, California and this is an on-site position. The Junior Accountant in the Cost Accounting Department will be responsible for reviewing the company's inventory data statistics and analysis as well as monitoring the production process while acting as a liaison between Cost Accounting and other departments within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of Inventory experience required
  • Proficiency in GAAP principles.
  • Candidate must be proficient in using Microsoft Excel and 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment a must.
  • Self-motivated and proactive problem solver with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to change and provide constructive feedback
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Regularly exercises discretion and the ability to prioritize workload.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of General Ledger experience a plus
  • Knowledge Microsoft Dynamics or an ERP system a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with inventory control teams to monitor inventory levels, reconcile discrepancies, and analyze inventory-related costs
  • Review and analyze inventory transactions within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
  • Monthly reconciliations between the inventory reports and the trial balance within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
  • Assist with quarter-end journal entries for FIFO and LIFO
  • Assist with month-end journal entries for GAAP Gross Margin Analysis
  • Work with the manufacturing facilities on any discrepancies related to physical or financial inventory transactions within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
  • Perform internal inventory audits at various manufacturing facilities
