About The Position

D.H. Griffin Contracting specializes in industrial equipment installation, relocation and removal, mechanical construction, technical and management services. Our focus on quality workmanship, timely performance, and safety have allowed us to work for premier facilities across the nation, ranging from auto manufacturing and aerospace to chemical and industrial plants. Our Dayton, TN Division is accepting applications for an experienced Journeyman (Millwright) who can use their knowledge and skills to install, dismantle, move machinery or heavy equipment according to layout plans, blue prints or other drawings.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyance systems, motors and other industrial machine components is essential.
  • Fabrication and welding experience
  • Analyze and understand blueprints, layout plans, and schematics
  • Troubleshooting techniques to identify defects and machinery problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with vendors, co-workers and customers
  • Ability to measure, calculate and apply geometric concepts
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery and aerial lifts to perform job duties
  • Set-up and operate precision layout tools and instrumentation
  • OSHA 10 preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 4 years of industrial mechanical experience.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, schematics, e-plans and specifications.
  • Install, dismantle and move industrial machinery using various hand, power tools and heavy lifting equipment
  • Heavy and complex rigging knowledge and experience
  • Troubleshoot and make needed machine repairs
  • Precision layout and alignment using tight tolerances
  • Install ductwork and other utility services as required
  • Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods of time
  • Must adhere to safety policies and be a champion of safe work practices and policies.
