About The Position

The Millwright plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment across various facilities in the United States. This position ensures that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. The Millwright will work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform precise alignments, and install new equipment according to technical specifications. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with industry standards. Ultimately, the Millwright contributes to the seamless operation of manufacturing and production processes by applying expert mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Millwright apprenticeship program or equivalent technical training.
  • Proven experience in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and practices related to mechanical work.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in rigging and crane operation.
  • Experience with CNC machinery and automated production equipment.
  • Familiarity with welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Basic electrical knowledge related to machinery controls.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install, dismantle, and relocate heavy machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and execute timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide installation and repair work.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other maintenance personnel to plan and execute machinery upgrades and modifications.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices safely to move heavy components during installation or repair.
