Requirements

  • Active journeyman electrician certification in the state of Michigan
  • 5 or more years of experience in the electrical trade, with at least half of all career experience in the residential electrical trade
  • Strong working knowledge of national and regional electrical codes

Nice To Haves

  • 8 or more years of experience in the electrical trade, with at least 4 years in the residential electrical trade
  • Residential service work preferred, with a focus and understanding of the challenges of electrifying older homes in the Detroit area without the ability to fully overhaul existing infrastructure
  • An independent self-starter capable of completing projects without significant oversight or training and who can solve problems proactively
  • An ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
  • An interest in continuous growth and improvement

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on electrical support of Treehouse customers in the city of Detroit and surrounding suburbs
  • Install equipment related to residential electrification, ensuring installation accuracy, efficiency, and throughput according to company goals
  • Organize and maintain vehicle inventory to ensure alignment with and efficiency in meeting all installation requirements and purchase, deliver, and organize installation inventory
  • Serve as customer service electrical subject-matter expert, conducting site visits, identifying and negotiating change orders, and advising on scoping needs
  • Follow standard operating procedures and guidelines and ensure all work meets safety standards and is up to code in field work and collect, maintain, and demonstrate understanding of electrical installation inspection documentation
  • Deliver permits and business licenses to local building departments when needed
