About The Position

The Journeyman Carpenter is responsible for performing a full range of journeyman-level carpentry work from rough framing to finish carpentry. This position is skilled in all phases of woodworking and capable of executing material take-offs, estimate material needs, install and finish concrete, install and finish sheetrock, install carpet and vinyl, paint, and steel stud framing. Willingness to assist other crafts when required.

Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.
A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
The ability to work 80.5 hours a week on a 2x2 rotation is required.
At least eight (8) years of related journeyman-level carpenter training and experience are required.

Nice To Haves

Five (5) or more years of experience working as a Journeyman Carpenter specifically in the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret construction drawings, sketches, and work orders to determine materials and equipment required for assigned work.
Installation of sheet rock and install wall coverings.
Frame buildings, walls, footings, columns, shelves, and stairs.
Install, wood, paneling, siding, and other prefabricated materials.
Install wood, ceramic, and cement floors.
Install glass, ceiling tile, windows, and doors.
Mark, cut, and shape materials to prescribed measurements.
Use woodworking tools, power tools, and perform basic joinery techniques.
Fit, install, and maintain various finished hardware.
Build and erect scaffolding in compliance with Company and customer requirements.
Prepare reports and conduct safety audits as required.
Installation of metal stud framing.
Installation of all aspects of flooring- Carpet, Vinyl, Tile, Concrete, Wood and Ceramic.
Experience with EPDM roofing.
Assist other crafts with plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
Working from aerial platforms.
Work with steel structural assembly.
Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
