About The Position

The Part-Time Job Placement Coordinator supports students enrolled in noncredit training and career programs by developing employment opportunities, coordinating job placement services, and building/maintaining strong employer partnerships. This role plays a key part in connecting students to employment aligned with their career training and educational goals. This is a temporary, part-time grant-funded position working no more than 25 hours per week. Travel is required for local travel to employer sites, community partners, and recruitment events. Assignment is September 15, 2025, until May 31, 2027

Requirements

  • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment.
  • Knowledge of workforce and labor market trends.
  • Associate degree or equivalent credits required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in career services, job placement, workforce development, or employer relations.
  • Effective communication, networking, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with career services platforms, job boards, and Microsoft Office
  • Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners.
  • Experience collaborating with employers, community college students or adult learners in career training programs.
  • Ability to travel to multiple educational institutions, utilizing personal vehicle for travel

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national employers to create and expand job opportunities for students and program completers.
  • Assist students with job search strategies, applications, resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation.
  • Maintain a database of employer contacts, job openings, and student placements.
  • Collaborate with instructors and program staff to identify students ready for job placement.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one and group career advising sessions with students.
  • Organize job fairs, employer info sessions, and recruitment events in collaboration with the workforce department.
  • Track and report employment outcomes for students in accordance with grant and institutional requirements.
  • Assist in the development of job readiness workshops and related career development materials. Track student employment outcomes and prepare reports for internal use, grants, and accreditation.
  • Provide individualized job placement support for students, particularly those in workforce development and career/technical education (CTE) programs.
  • Provide feedback to instructional staff about employer skill requirements and student job performance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and follow FERPA guidelines
