About The Position

Coordinate all employer relations and employer events including the part-time and temporary job development program (JLD) for ISU students, as part of the Career Center team. This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor Degree by Summer 2026.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to network effectively.
  • Ability to work with varied populations.
  • Keep accurate records and write professional reports.
  • Ability to be organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating and implementing events and/or Class/group presentation skills.
  • Experience in working independently and on teams.
  • Computer Proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of career center management systems (such as Handshake, CSO, or Simplicity) and/or experience with higher education systems like Banner or Argos.
  • Experience in networking with many different employers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with employers and organizations to be able to locate and develop jobs for ISU students.
  • Help employers and organizations coordinate on-campus visits for information sessions, hosting information tables in the Student Union and Rendezvous, and doing in-class presentations.
  • Utilize effective networking and communication skills when working with employers and organizations.
  • Advertise open job/internship positions through Handshake, the Career Center’s software system.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the annual Part-Time Job/Internship Fair, and help coordinate/market additional career fairs the Career Center hosts throughout the year.
  • Work with employers to set up on-campus interviews and information sessions with students through Handshake, and coordinate with colleges, departments and faculty on campus.
  • Keep accurate records of students who obtained part-time employment, including information about employers and details about wages. An annual JLD Report is required each August for the previous fiscal year for regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate the Student Employee of the Year program each spring semester.
  • Work closely with the Career Center administrative staff on career fairs and other career-related projects.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing when working with employers, faculty, staff and students. Represent both the Career Center and ISU in a professional manner.
  • Coordinate the employer sponsorship program for the Career Center.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
