About The Position

A Job Costing Data Analyst uses financial data to track, analyze, and optimize costs for specific projects, comparing estimated vs. actual expenses (labor, materials, overhead) to improve profitability, identify inefficiencies, and provide insights for better resource allocation and strategic decisions, requiring strong analytical, accounting, and software skills (Excel, ERP systems).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or 5 years of experience in similar role.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident in compliance with ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyze costs for individual jobs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
Profitability Assessment: Determine profit margins by comparing job costs to revenue.
Variance Analysis: Identify discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs.
Reporting: Create reports and dashboards for management with actionable insights.
Forecasting: Provide cost data for financial projections and budgeting.
Process Improvement: Recommend cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
Financial Acumen: Understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Software Proficiency: Expertise in Excel and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Global Shop Solutions).
Attention to Detail: Crucial for precise cost tracking and data integrity.
Communication: Ability to present findings clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
