Jewish Community Services (JCS) provides programs and services for people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them achieve their goals, enhance their wellbeing, and maximize their independence. Jewish Community Services (JCS) is seeking a compassionate and energetic Job Coach to support individuals with varying abilities as they build independence, develop job readiness skills, and actively engage in their community. This part-time, community-based role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, flexibility, and making a meaningful impact outside of a traditional office setting. You will work one-on-one and in small groups with people we serve for approximately 20 hours per week while participating in a wide range of community activities. You will also support individuals in developing employment-related skills and accessing volunteer opportunities that align with their goals.

  • Provide direct support to individuals with a range of abilities and disability diagnoses
  • Work with clients one-on-one or in small group settings within the community
  • Drive up to four individuals in your personal vehicle to activities, volunteer sites, and outings
  • Support participation in community-based activities such as arts and crafts, games, fitness classes, movies, group discussions, library visits, and park outings
  • Teach and model job readiness skills including workplace communication, punctuality, interviewing, and task completion
  • Assist individuals in accessing and succeeding in volunteer and work-based opportunities
  • Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and social skill development
  • Provide guidance on social and communication skills
  • Follow schedules and lesson plans while remaining flexible and adaptable
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts in group settings and model effective task performance
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and attendance records using JCS software or email within 24 hours of service delivery
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to relate to individuals with varying abilities
  • Comfortable using computers, software, and timekeeping systems
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to use personal vehicle during work hours
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to religious and cultural identities
  • Organized, flexible, and able to “go with the flow” in dynamic community settings
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or currently enrolled in college
  • Prior DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) experience or training preferred
