About The Position

Luxoft is looking for a Senior Java/Python Developer who would be working with our Customer - one of the world's largest investment management companies. Based in Southern California, our client manages close to $2 trillion in assets and is working with Luxoft in a full-scale upgrade of their technology.

Requirements

• 5+ years commercial Java experience, Spring
• Python experience at a regular+ level
• AWS experience is strongly desirable
• AI/ML experience is desirable
• Knowledge in web-services
• Passionate about software development
• Client-oriented with good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business team, business analysts, and architects to understand new requirements and identify changes to the system.
• Collaborate daily with development team, designers, copy writers, and other IT teams.
• Develop and present recommendations from analysis of current solutions.
• Assist in design peer reviews, code peer reviews, and build and unit test functional enhancements.
• Identify areas for code refactoring and contribute to development process improvements.
• Offer solutions and designs to solve process, project, or program issues; provide recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Exhibit technical thought leadership and excellent problem-solving ability, with an aptitude for technical innovation.
• Understand content and social media publishing platforms and stay updated on industry trends in desktop, mobile, and video platform development.
• Serve as a coach/mentor for other UI and back-end developers on new system requirements and enhancements.
• Lead development of Java/JEE code to meet specifications and designs using best practices.
• Estimate effort and breakdown tasks for implementing new changes and identifying risks.
• Build large-scale data pipes and design, build, and run ML systems at scale.
• Monitor and improve performance and investigate issues.
