About the position

The Java Developer I position at Epsilon, Inc. involves assisting in the development of Java-based applications and data integration solutions within a high-volume, low-latency environment. The role emphasizes collaboration with senior team members and participation in all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC), focusing on building scalable and reliable systems while adhering to Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java-based applications and TIBCO integrations in a high-volume, low-latency environment.
  • Troubleshoot real-time system issues and provide timely support.
  • Participate in all stages of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Implement unit tests and automated tests to ensure code quality.
  • Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and standard design patterns.
  • Work with web services, REST APIs, and technologies like XML, JSON, and HTML.
  • Use version control tools (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Ant, Maven, Gradle).
  • Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and define business processes.
  • Adhere to Agile methodologies and participate in team activities (e.g., sprints).
  • Support software releases and contribute to continuous improvement processes.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Knowledge of Java programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Familiarity with TIBCO systems or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Exposure to web services (REST, XML, JSON) and web technologies like HTML.
  • Experience with code versioning tools such as Git (academic or project work counts).
  • Basic understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., sprints, daily stand-ups).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (willingness to learn if no prior experience).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow guidance from senior developers.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow with new technologies, tools, and best practices.
