We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and friendly individual to join our team as a Part-Time Janitorial General Cleaner for a respected private school campus in Chatham, Virginia. This position is ideal for someone looking for consistent hours and a positive work environment, who understands the importance of maintaining a clean and safe learning space for students, faculty, and staff. 🌟 Position Details Location Chatham, VA (Private School Campus) Schedule Consistent Weekly Hours: Monday - Friday: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM (4.5 hours) AND Sunday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM (4 hours) Must have flexible availability during the summer Event Hours Additional hours may be required on an as-needed basis for school events, which may include evenings or weekends. Compensation Starting Pay at $14.25 per hour ✨ Responsibilities The Janitorial General Cleaner will be responsible for performing standard cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure the school facilities are kept in excellent condition. Duties include, but are not limited to: Routine Cleaning: Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors (classrooms, offices, common areas, hallways). Restroom Sanitation: Thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies are stocked. Waste Management: Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste properly. Surface Care: Wiping down surfaces, desks, countertops, and fixtures. Event Support: Performing necessary cleaning and setup/takedown tasks for special school events. Safety: Reporting any necessary repairs, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to the supervisor. ✅ Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Previous experience in commercial or institutional cleaning is a plus, but not required. Positive Attitude: Must possess a strong positive attitude and a proactive, self-starting work ethic. Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor when interacting with school personnel and visitors. Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 35 lbs), and perform repetitive cleaning tasks for the duration of the shift. Reliability: Must be dependable and punctual for all scheduled shifts. 🔒 Mandatory Screening Requirements The following are strict requirements for employment: Lifetime Criminal Background Check: All candidates must successfully pass a lifetime criminal background check with no disqualifying factors. Pre-Employment Drug Screen: All candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
