Our Buffalo, New York plant is the newest and flagship facility utilizing our proven and growing Surestone technology. This state-of-the-art extrusion and polymer manufacturing site depends on a clean, safe, and organized environment to support our people and operations. Job Summary The Janitor – Day Shift is responsible for the general housekeeping and upkeep of office spaces, break rooms, restrooms, and other non-manufacturing areas throughout the Buffalo facility. This role helps maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment for employees, visitors, and plant leadership. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in keeping shared spaces clean and well stocked.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to work in a safe manner and follow specific instructions
- Ability to use cleaning tools, supplies, and equipment properly
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings
- Ability to identify safety issues or equipment problems in assigned areas
- Ability to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to work under immediate supervision
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Ability to work hours assigned by management
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain offices, break rooms, restrooms, and other non-manufacturing areas throughout the facility
- Mop floors, vacuum offices, and dust or wipe down desks, counters, tables, and other surfaces
- Clean and scrub toilets, sinks, and other restroom fixtures
- Clean and sanitize refrigerators, microwaves, ice machines, and other shared break room equipment
- Ensure restrooms and break rooms remain stocked with paper products, soap, and other necessary supplies
- Maintain inventory of cleaning products and notify leadership when supplies need to be reordered
- Report any issues with restroom, break room, or janitorial equipment to the appropriate team
- Follow all safety procedures and use cleaning tools and equipment properly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Support plant cleanliness standards and assist with other housekeeping-related duties as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
