The Porter will be responsible for the upkeep of common areas, amenity spaces, and building exteriors, working closely with the maintenance and management teams to ensure the property consistently meets Related’s high standards. As a Janitor/Porter Associate at Related Management Company, your role is vital to maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive property. You will perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep the property in top condition, showing pride in your building and grounds. In this position, you’ll also have the chance to develop new skills by working closely with the maintenance team on minor repairs and preventative measures. Additionally, you'll be able to learn, practice, and apply new skills for future career growth in collaboration with your property’s leaders.

Requirements

• A strong work ethic and a helpful attitude
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all seasons
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and be on your feet for most of the shift
• High attention to detail and pride in cleanliness
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Nice To Haves

• 1-3 Yers of experience in janitorial, porter, or cleaning roles is a plus

Responsibilities

• Sweep sidewalks, terraces, lobbies, and hallways
• Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the building
• Respond quickly to spills, weather-related messes, or other safety hazards
• Clean and polish floors, glass, mirrors, brass, and woodwork
• Deep clean as needed (carpet cleaning, grout scrubbing, waxing floors)
• Maintain the laundry room, fitness center, and management offices
• Report any damage or safety issues to the Resident Manager
• Clean stairwells, service areas, and the compactor room
• Change light bulbs and help prepare units for new residents
• Use building systems to log tasks and report ongoing issues
• Cover the front desk during concierge breaks
• Monitor service doors during move-ins and deliveries
• Assist with unit inspections and ensure spaces look great for tours
• Help set up and clean shared spaces like lounges, rooftops, and gyms
• Support building events and gatherings by helping with logistics and cleanup
• Keep shared spaces looking welcoming and refreshed
• Keep elevators, trash rooms, and amenity areas clean and odor-free
• Support recycling and compost programs
• Perform scent and cleanliness checks to ensure the building feels fresh
• Participate in team meetings and be open to cross-training
