About The Position

Basic Function: Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for
performing daily cleaning of a community day service facility, including office
spaces, common program areas, warehouse, Cafe and restrooms, as well as
maintaining cleanliness in exterior areas surrounding the building perimeter.

Requirements

• 6 months of experience in the janitorial/custodial field (or completion of a janitorial/custodial-training program)
• Highschool diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sweeps, and mops floors as required by the cleaning schedule.
• Washes mirrors, stalls, walls, sinks, and baseboards.
• Vacuums, shampoos, and scrubbing carpets as applicable.
• Conducts periodic buffing, stripping, and waxing of floors.
• Cleans and sanitizes water fountains, telephones, and janitorial closets.
• Uses the correct procedures for each cleaning task.
• Follows manufacturer’s recommendation for use of all cleaning solutions.
• Follows all safety procedures when operating equipment.
• Informs supervisor of any equipment malfunction or unusual occurrences on the job.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and supply room in an orderly fashion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
