About The Position

Trans Ova Genetics is seeking a full-time IVF Lab Technician II to join their team in Fort Scott, KS! Trans Ova Genetics provides in-depth training that provides a solid foundation prior to supporting client production and would require eight-twelve weeks at our training facility, which is critical to the success of this role. Requirements

  • Years of service: 2-7 years of TOG or industry experience
  • Education Requirements: B.S. in Animal Science or a related field; or a Veterinary Technician degree.
  • Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Ability to sit for long periods of time behind a microscope, in a clean lab setting.
  • Ability to work under a laminar flow hood.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Handling dexterity is required for manipulation of equipment and small objects.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, color recognition, depth perception, and ability to adjust to focus.
  • Ability to work with liquid nitrogen.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Flexibility to accommodate changes in work hours and schedules based on production needs and seasonal workload.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment as well as possess effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to develop and grow both personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Fertilization.
  • Semen handling and preparation for IVF.
  • Embryology training.
  • Embryo evaluation, grading and freezing.
  • Cross-trained in aspects of another department (SSL, PSE, etc.).
  • Utilizing these skills on a regular basis.
  • Media plate preparation.
  • Embryo stripping.
  • Recordkeeping/Data Entry.
  • Quality Control.
  • Maintain good laboratory technique and follow lab protocols.
  • Follow Trans Ova’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional image reflective of Trans Ova’s industry position.
  • Assist in trouble shooting and problem solving
  • Participate in mentoring, coaching, and training activities
  • Promote and adhere to safety in the workplace
  • Complete required training assignments, forms and other paperwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
