About The Position

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the IV Therapy Registered Nurse RN provides patient care by specializing in administering intravenous medicine, vitamins, or fluids .

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid RN license in the state of Connecticut.
• 1 year of experience with PICC lines placement/access/de-access, Midlines, Port access/de-access, and placement of Peripheral sites is required.
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) — certification support available post-hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• insert and maintain peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and other types of lines
• Administration and monitoring of medications, blood products, and fluids while calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments
• Collaborates with colleagues, physicians, healthcare team members, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery
