About The Position

CareConnect is a Hartford HealthCare (HHC) program focused on the implementation of the Epic electronic health record across the organization. The OpTime/Anesthesia Team implements and supports the Surgical Services staff in HHC’s acute and outpatient surgery departments. Preference will be given to individuals with prior Epic experience either on the IT or operation sides. Travel to Epic’s corporate office in Madison, WI could be required. The Application Analyst works under the direction of the application’s team lead to design, build, & test clinical systems. They support workflow analysis, design and build sessions with subject matter Experts (physicians, nursing and other ancillary services personnel). They complete in depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality to deliver on expected outcomes. Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position. Successful candidates enjoy helping other users learn and adopt usage of the application. This position is part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a HealthCare environment
  • Works successfully in a matrix team environment that presents significant change and tight timeframes.
  • Approaches problems constructively by focusing on how to move the project forward, explores and analyzes alternatives.
  • Acts as a proponent for change and demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset , ingenuity and innovative thinking.
  • Possesses strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position.
  • This position is part of an on-call rotation.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant perioperative clinical experience or with clinical information systems in a perioperative care setting preferred.
  • Epic Optime or Anesthesia certification or proficiency a plus.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with prior Epic experience either on the IT or operation sides.
  • Travel to Epic’s corporate office in Madison, WI could be required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes workflow and how it translates into application configurations to ensure consistent system design.
  • Anticipates and provides solutions to complex problems with the necessary priorities.
  • Completes specific build tasks as assigned.
  • Assists in building clinical documentation tools and testing of new clinical content functionality.
  • Documents and maintains all required system design and build documents and configures system accordingly.
  • Participates actively in weekly team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
  • Coordinates vendor support for functional and technical support of assigned areas as needed.
  • Communicates with customer base on the progress of troubleshooting issues and project deliverables.
