About The Position

The job of IT User Support Technician is done for the purpose/s of installing and maintaining computer hardware and software; resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns; and providing in-service training and documentation of applications and hardware. Additionally, this position provides support to telecom equipment, and performs CAT5 cable installation and repair. This job reports to the IT Manager.

Requirements

  • Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Pre-employment proficiency testing
  • Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Insurability
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background clearance

Responsibilities

  • Assesses malfunctions to computer hardware and software
  • Attends meetings, classes, and seminars as assigned
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs CAT5 cabling
  • installs, configures, and repairs computer hardware and software
  • provides basic telecom support (e.g. phone handset troubleshooting, cross-connects and programming)
  • Transports various items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.)
  • Assists other technical personnel, as needed.
