About The Position

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is one of the largest trade associations in the nation, representing more than 300 heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), water heating, and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from all parts of the world. Ensuring human comfort, productivity, and safety while practicing environmental stewardship is the mission of AHRI. Through our certification program, standards, advocacy, and other activities, we strive to help save energy, improve productivity, and ensure a better environment. AHRI has an opening for an IT Temporary Employee . We are seeking an individual with high organizational skills, attention to details, and minimum IT skill level. The right individual will be able to follow instructions on how to neatly and properly bundle and cluster computer equipment cabling under desks. This temporary assignment is expected to last about two weeks. The scheduled work hours are 9am to 5pm Monday – Friday.

Requirements

  • High level of organization and strong attention to detail.
  • Basic IT knowledge (e.g., familiarity with common computer, monitor, and peripheral cables).
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
  • Manual dexterity and comfort working under desks and in tight spaces.
  • Ability to use basic tools and supplies such as zip ties, Velcro straps, and cable clips.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, bundle, and secure computer and peripheral cabling under desks and workstations.
  • Neatly tie, route, and conceal cables to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Follow provided instructions and best practices for cable management and safety.
  • Identify and separate power, network, and data cables to avoid tangling or interference.
  • Ensure cables are properly labeled, fastened, and not obstructing foot traffic or equipment
  • Maintain consistency in cable organization across multiple workstations.
  • Report damaged, unsafe, or improperly functioning cables to IT staff or supervisors.
