About The Position

The IT Technician provides hands-on IT support across Balluff locations in the United States and Canada. This role ensures operational efficiency, high user satisfaction, and adherence to IT standards while assisting with daily IT operations and IT projects. The IT Technician works under the guidance of the IT Supervisor to implement technology initiatives and improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent IT specialist training.
  • 2–5 years of IT support experience, including 1st and 2nd level support.
  • Strong technical expertise in Windows system administration, MS Office, MS Exchange, Active Directory, Citrix, and networking (Cisco).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently under supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications preferred (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSE, CCNA, ITIL).
  • Familiarity with Linux, macOS, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) preferred.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and basic database knowledge (SQL/NoSQL) preferred.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and ITSM systems (ServiceNow preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Act as a point of contact for technical inquiries and IT support issues at Balluff locations in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Assist with repair orders and provide hands-on support for PCs, servers, telecommunication systems, and network components.
  • Execute configurations, component conversions, cabling tasks, and hardware/software installations according to specifications.
  • Provide user support for hardware, software, and IT service issues.
  • Support IT projects, including rollouts, migrations, and change management initiatives, under the direction of the IT Supervisor.
  • Maintain and track IT hardware and software inventory; assist in planning replacements, updates, and user training.
  • Assist in preparing IT equipment requests for approval in accordance with IT policies.
  • Deliver problem resolution using ITSM tools (preferably ServiceNow).
  • Follow established IT support processes and procedures.
  • Implement IT/OT measures to reduce cybersecurity risks, under guidance.
  • Liaise with other departments and management to support IT initiatives, project status, and incident resolution.
