The IT Technician with the Office of Innovative Technologies (OIT) installs, tests and troubleshoots new and existing data and telephone circuits to include category cabling (cat 5 and cat 6) fiber optic cabling and outside plant cabling for wireless access points, cameras, end user equipment, servers, and other network related equipment. Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair as necessary wireless access points, cameras and other network related equipment. Will work with and monitor the work of outside telecommunication contractors Prepares documentation in a variety of electronic and written formats (daily paperwork log, time and material sheets, and circuit activation sheets). Responsibilities Completion of work orders for moves, adds and changes of structured cabling, VOIP, cameras and wireless access points. IT technical support for athletic events. 24/7 on call in a staff rotation.
