About The Position

Akerman is seeking an IT Technician - Technical Admin Specialist to be based in its Orlando, FL office. This is an onsite position. The IT Technician – Technical Admin Specialist is responsible for administering the firm’s access card accounts and IT asset management processes. This role includes tracking and updating IT assets, managing asset purchasing, and providing backup support for telecommunications and phone system accounts. Access Card System Admin : Create new access cards for new hires Replace lost or stolen access cards as requested Maintain access groups for each office location Run access reports as requested IT Asset Management Administration : Enter new equipment into the asset database Maintain and update the asset database Initiate and maintain asset audits Manage the return of leased equipment firm-wide Communicate outstanding lease deliverables to responsible parties across the firm Create and manage Absolute DDS computer tracking accounts Telecom Administration (Back-up) : Install and configure telecommunications equipment, systems, applications, and accounts Troubleshoot and repair issues with telecommunication systems, applications, and accounts Prepare IP Telephony extension displays for new hires Update (Add/Remove/Change) User ID Profiles for assigned Softphone features. Prepare Out Of Office (OOO) greetings as needed for current and departing employees Maintain the Telephone Number Database to account for all Direct Inward Dial numbers and allocate as needed for new hires Process telecom-related workflow forms for new hires and departing employees

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of IT and telecom acronyms and terminology
  • Hands-on experience with VoIP telecom systems (e.g., Avaya, Cisco, Mitel)
  • Familiarity with Unified Communications Platforms (e.g., Cisco, MS Teams, Zoom)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to multi-task and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Advanced skills in database applications and Microsoft Excel
