Maintains computing environment by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance. Provides consultation, training, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving to employees. The position ensures the effective operation of all systems; installs and configures systems; recommends hardware and software acquisitions and upgrades. This is a dynamic role that combines essential IT functions with crucial support for our facility and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a strong foundation in IT, but also a willingness to assist with other departmental needs as they arise. This role is a key part of our small, cross-functional team, and your ability to adapt and contribute beyond traditional IT duties is essential for success.

  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
  • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions as applicable.
  • Assist with installation, configuration and usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software.
  • Provide training to employees in the use of system and applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems associated with business systems.
  • Support users with mobile devices, including configuration, training and troubleshooting.
  • Perform updates and upgrades on existing hardware and software.
  • Assisting other facility departments.
  • Experience with Cisco switches and applications.
  • VMWare and Hyper-V virtualization skills.
  • Microsoft 365 Services Administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Able to promptly answer support-related email, phone calls, and other means of communication.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Proficient knowledge on computers and other related products.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Ability to operate assigned equipment.
  • Good analytical and interpreting skills which are required to understand and analyze the problems.
  • Customer-focused individual with demonstrated skills in communications, consensus-building, and conflict resolution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Network Administrator, ten (10) years preferred.
  • Providing IT support to an organization or client group.
  • Experience working within an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred, with demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes.
