This is for a future opportunity MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented IT Systems Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related IT discipline. An Associate's degree with an additional two years of experience may be substituted.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in information technology, using software applications and tools to meet customer requirements.
  • Certification: A current DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+, SSCP) or the ability to obtain one within 180 days of hire.
  • Proven experience writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical and training manuals, including documentation required for A&A IAW ICD 503.
  • Experience with Windows administration, Active Directory, administrative scripting languages, and the integration, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of operating systems in a multi-domain environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with virtual infrastructure technologies, all components of Windows and Linux system infrastructure, Local Area Network/Wide Area Network technologies, Storage Area Network (SAN), clustering, and backup technologies.
  • Experience and proficiency with systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and system modeling tools, along with the ability to travel domestically.
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Providing server/operating system centric knowledge for testing, deploying, integrating, and improving upon new and existing IT capabilities.
  • Assisting with recommendations related to understanding operating system dependencies, physical and virtual server environments, integration with infrastructure resources (e.g. storage and networking), and how to configure operating systems and applications in an efficient manner.
  • Maintaining platforms of common hypervisors and enterprise applications, including collaboration tools, Systems Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) products, directory services, and automation technologies.
  • Identifying security vulnerabilities, testing and documenting security-relevant changes, and communicating with vendors to assess new technologies.
