About The Position

The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. The IT Systems Analyst works within the Information Technology Bureau in the Montana Department of Corrections’ Director’s Office. This office provides critical support to the department’s executive team through communications, financial services, legal services, and human resources. The IT Systems Analyst is a strategic leader responsible for aligning IT systems with organizational objectives. This role involves collaborating with managers to analyze, design, and implement system enhancements while ensuring data integrity. Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth testing, researching new functionalities, and providing cost-benefit analyses for system upgrades. Additionally, the Supervisor oversees the installation and configuration of systems, manages a team of 6 employees, and handles personnel functions such as hiring, performance management, and discipline. The role also involves collaboration with vendors, budget management, and staying abreast of emerging technologies to recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • A total of five years of relevant experience may be substituted to meet these qualifications
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
