About The Position

The IT Systems Administrator is a mid-level to upper-level position within the IT department of ESCO Group. This position is responsible for the upkeep, configuration to ensure reliable operation of company computer systems, especially servers and network equipment. This position seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources and security of the computers they manage meets the needs of the users without exceeding the budget.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Associate’s degree program in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college, technical school, or university and one year or more of related work or industry experience; or
  • A combination of equivalent education and or experience will be considered with solid evidence of success.
  • Demonstrated to be highly proficient with computer technologies including but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, and the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Earnestly looks for ways to improve skills and is a dedicated and driven learner.
  • Adapts behavior to changing circumstances.
  • Work produced demonstrates excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Work effectively with decreasing amount of assistance from others as skills are acquired.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge networking hardware/software, computer configuration and troubleshooting and server hardware and operating systems.
  • Good to strong level of knowledge of security best practices and management of risks.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a wide range of user requests related to technology and its use to allow ESCO serve our internal and external customers.
  • Perform regular systems and security monitoring, handling backup procedures and helping setup, maintain, and disable/delete user’s accounts as required.
  • Develop and maintain relevant procedures and standards ensuring that hardware and systems work as expected and maintaining archives as needed.
  • Provide technical support related to all IT managed systems within our organization
  • Create “How-To” guides for users when it is determined that we have a common issue related to user lack of understanding on how to use something.
  • Provide primary support of all server-based systems such as file shares, other production servers, system backups, phones, active directory, and email systems.
  • Provide primary support of all wired and wireless networks, routers, firewalls, etc.
  • Provide primary support of all security and access systems.
  • Support IT projects with budgeting guidance and execution.
  • Utilize, support, and enhance ESCO’s standards and best practices.
  • Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.
